Junior to Mid QA Tester
About the position
This position performs test plan development, design and execution, ensuring systems and applications function to meet user needs. This involves both manual and automated testing strategies for custom and purchased applications including functional testing, integration testing, system testing, load testing, user-acceptance testing, regression testing, and accessibility testing. This position creates and reviews test cases to validate business and system requirements. In addition to executing test cases, this position supports execution of test cases by end-users, including subject matter experts (SMEs). This position will help coordinate the work of other IT staff and business people to create and execute test plans to help ensure quality and completeness of ETF systems. Works collaboratively with both technical and business project team members to resolve issues and ensure that projects are on schedule, which may include creating test metrics and reporting. This position will support testing of web applications, mainframe applications, reports and data, and APIs.
Responsibilities
Design, develop and execute test plans and test cases; perform manual and automated testing across functional, integration, system, load, user-acceptance, regression, and accessibility testing. Create and review test cases to validate business and system requirements. Support execution of test cases by end-users and SMEs. Coordinate with IT staff and business stakeholders to ensure quality and completeness of systems. Create test metrics and reporting. Support testing of web applications, mainframe applications, reports, data, and APIs. Promote and follow applicable ETF and state standards, policies and best practices including change management, problem tracking, SDLC, and project management. Work under direction of project manager/scrum master or independently under QA Team Lead.
Requirements
Knowledge of advanced application test methodologies, tools, and procedures. Experience with issue tracking tools such as Jira. Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr. Experience with Agile processes. Ability to create and execute test plans, design and run manual and automated tests across various testing types. Ability to create test metrics and reports. Experience supporting testing of web, mainframe, reports/data, and APIs. Ability to follow organizational standards, policies, and SDLC processes. Knowledge of health and pension benefit administration programs is highly desired.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with accessibility testing, load testing, and coordinating user-acceptance testing. Prior experience working with ETF/state standards and policies. Familiarity with pension/benefit administration systems.
