Marcom is Apple’s global marketing team, responsible for consumer-facing communications. We develop and execute world-class marketing across all media and platforms, aiming to provide new and existing customers with simple, engaging, and inspiring experiences. Our Editing team works closely with writers, producers, and legal staff to ensure clarity and accuracy in Apple’s marketing communications. This involves reviewing materials such as product packaging, retail and channel marketing, apple.com content, social media, video, special event communications, and brand guidelines at all stages of development. The team operates as an established, experienced, fully remote editing department.
Role Overview / Mission
This role exists to oversee a significant volume of editing deliverables across various high-profile lines of business. The Editing Manager will manage senior editors and may also oversee contractors, partnering with other Editing team leaders and cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a large volume of error-free editing work.
* Edit complex, high-profile deliverables, including printed assets, web pages, social campaigns, direct mail, and technical specification comparison charts, ensuring content is clear, accurate, and adheres to brand standards.
* Lead or participate in regular meetings with cross-functional stakeholders to gather feedback, provide updates, and ensure project alignment.
* Manage editing projects, which includes assigning resources, defining project scope, tracking progress, and providing status updates.
* Brief employees and contractors on project expectations.
* Participate in planning and status meetings with senior Editing leadership.
* Coach, mentor, and manage employees, fostering growth and development in a supportive work environment.
* Train contractors on style guidelines and project requirements, and provide ongoing oversight of their work.
* Hire and onboard new staff as needed.
Required Qualifications / Skills
* 8 or more years of professional copyediting experience, including proofreading, line editing, and developmental editing.
* 3 or more years of people management experience.
* A firm understanding of U.S. English usage, grammar, and punctuation.
* Familiarity with Apple hardware, software products, and services.
* Experience editing within a marketing communications department or advertising agency.

* Strong attention to detail.
* Strong people skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
* Ability to be flexible, build consensus, and foster collaboration.
* Skilled at prioritizing work in response to business needs.
* Deep understanding of the creative development and production process.
* Experience working and managing remotely.
* Proficiency in using editing tools such as Track Changes, Comment, and Preview.
* Ability to thrive in a demanding, high-profile, dynamic, and confidential work environment.
Location & Work Setup
This is a fully remote role.
Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range for this role is between $191,400 and $288,000, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employees have the opportunity to become Apple shareholders through participation in discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases via the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments, as well as relocation support.
