Role Overview / Mission

This role exists to drive major initiatives that maximize the number of clients served in our Social Security Disability vertical. You will report to the General Manager (Peter Bailinson) and collaborate with leaders across marketing, product, client experience, operations, and finance. This is a critical position requiring skills in strategy, implementation, team management, and strong judgment. Our organizational structure centers around cross-functional go-to-market teams, each managing a legal vertical’s profit and loss, budget, staffing, and strategic direction. This role offers exposure and mentorship from company leadership, including the CEO, and is a pathway to owning a profit and loss statement and gaining expertise in marketing and product functions.

Key Responsibilities

* Launch new client acquisition channels through rapid test-and-learn pilots, which could include partnerships, digital marketing platforms, or out-of-home campaigns.
* Lead cross-functional teams to integrate AI into the client funnel by building financial models, selecting and evaluating vendors, and rolling out approved solutions.
* Develop and manage plans to redevelop our website, including client and user interviews, feature prioritization, and agency management.

Required Qualifications / Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:
* Insightful and decisive judgment in developing strategies, with a track record of making effective decisions among competing priorities.
* Experience leading teams of high-performing individual contributors, preferably cross-functional.
* Ability to manage projects involving complex system mapping, data gathering and analysis, making recommendations, and implementing solutions.
* Capability to foster a positive team culture, advocate ideas persuasively, and gain buy-in from others.
* A commitment to helping people.

We are considering two candidate profiles:
* Individuals who started their career at a top consulting firm and have transitioned to an operator role at an early-to-growth stage startup, with a proven record of driving company traction.
* Individuals currently at a top consulting firm who have excelled significantly compared to peers, demonstrating rapid promotions or an unusual degree of ownership and responsibility.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

* Experience with marketplace businesses or complex consumer services (e.g., insurance, fintech, medical, real estate).
* Experience in consumer-focused research or discovery work, demonstrating comfort with interviewing and empathizing with diverse individuals.

Location & Work Setup

This is a fully remote position with a commitment to flexibility. Travel to Los Angeles is required for team gatherings, typically between quarterly and yearly, with company travel expenses covered. In-person interactions are valued for culture building, supported by planned retreats and offsites.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $150,000 and $180,000, in addition to equity and benefits. The final salary offer will depend on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity.

Benefits include:
* Medical and dental insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered.
* 15 vacation days and approximately 19 paid holidays annually, including a two-week year-end break.
* Free OneMedical membership.
* $50/month internet stipend.
* $1,000 reimbursable stipend for external education and training.
* Up to $1,200/year student loan repayment assistance.
* 401(k) and optional HSA/FSA.
* Opportunity to work with colleagues who are described as humble, thoughtful, smart, and fun.
