Role Overview / Mission
This role seeks a skilled Java Engineer to join a team focused on building the next generation of dialog agents for education, entertainment, and general knowledge applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design, development, and delivery of advanced AI features.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable, high-quality code for AI model training and optimization.
- Benchmark and evaluate model performance, ensuring continuous improvements.
- Assess and refine AI responses for clarity, accuracy, and alignment.
- Lead efforts in creating datasets and fine-tuning models.
- Collaborate on reinforcement learning processes that incorporate human feedback.
- Design evaluation strategies to align models with user needs and ethical considerations.
- Review code and documentation to uphold quality and best practices.
- Work closely with researchers, engineers, and product teams to enhance models.
- Explore and integrate new tools and methods to improve training workflows.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience with Java, including its syntax, conventions, and best practices.
- Solid background in back-end development, scalable systems, and modular architectures.
- Familiarity with code quality practices, including testing, code reviews, readability, and maintainability.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in training large language models or building AI-related systems.
Location & Work Setup
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to collaborate from anywhere.
Compensation & Benefits
- Opportunity to contribute to advanced AI projects with leading companies in the field of large language models.
- Work commitment options include 20, 30, or 40 hours per week. A minimum of 20 hours per week is required, with at least a 4-hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST).
- This is an independent contractor role.
- The expected duration for this contract is 1 month, with an anticipated start within the next week.
