Role Overview / Mission
The Remote Project Manager at Checkr, Inc. is responsible for leading multiple projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role provides structure, clarity, and accountability to cross-functional teams, helping shape strategies, manage timelines, and facilitate collaboration between internal teams, external partners, and clients. The position aims to make a measurable impact within a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle — from initial planning to successful delivery and post-project evaluation.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in alignment with business goals.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure transparency and consistency in communication through regular status updates and reports.
- Facilitate team meetings, encourage collaboration, and promote accountability among team members.
- Manage change requests, ensuring that any scope adjustments are documented, reviewed, and approved.
- Evaluate project outcomes and provide actionable insights for process improvement.
- Promote best practices in project management and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager, or similar role (3+ years preferred).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall).
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience managing remote or cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana, Trello, Monday.com, or Jira.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
- High attention to detail, accountability, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- PMP certification.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with digital transformation, product development, or process optimization projects.
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills.
