Senior Content Designer, Live and Sports

About the position

Netflix is one of the world’s leading entertainment services with 278 million paid memberships in over 190 countries. Netflix is seeking a Senior Content Designer for the Live XD team to shape the future of Live programming on Netflix, including sports and must-see events. The successful candidate will combine superior craft and communication skills with a passion for user experience design and entertainment, partnering with cross-functional teams to test new ideas and approaches that inform, educate, guide, and delight members while creating business value.

Responsibilities

You will use language and design to help shape live programming experiences, providing concepting, content strategy, and writing from early ideation through final execution. You’ll work on several projects at once, develop hypotheses and test plans with Designers and Product Managers, rationalize UX solutions with data, improve designs through feedback, initiate innovation projects, identify opportunities to elevate existing projects, and partner with Design leadership to evolve guidelines and standards.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications include 5+ years experience writing for consumer-facing digital products, ability to work autonomously and make strategic decisions, a portfolio demonstrating content design and user-focused product design strategy, outstanding communication, presentation, and people skills, and experience with A/B testing and experiments. Candidates should have a strong desire to understand user behavior and business success through data and consumer insights and be able to think critically about user journeys and content flows.

Nice-to-haves

Experience designing for streaming services, live TV, and/or sports is a plus. Familiarity with content systems for live events, localization/globalization partnership experience, and prior work on real-time or live-event content are desirable but not required.
