Sr. Software Engineer (QA Automation / ETL & Backend Testing)
About the position
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in backend testing, ETL/data validation, and test automation. This role will support enterprise healthcare initiatives including claims processing, with upcoming work in enrollments and accumulators. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with SQL-heavy ETL testing, Selenium automation, and modern data platforms including MongoDB (preferred), along with a solid understanding of Agile delivery practices.
Responsibilities
Perform backend testing and validate complex data flows across systems and integrations. Execute ETL testing and perform deep data validation using strong SQL. Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium (SDET-focused). Support automation pipelines using Java and Jenkins. Validate data as part of migration efforts from DB2 to MongoDB. Create and execute test cases, document results, and log defects in Agile tools. Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-arenaflex, sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Support testing for projects that include API testing and service validations. Ensure high-quality delivery through strong communication and proactive issue resolution.
Requirements
7+ years of experience in software testing / QA / automation engineering. Strong experience in ETL testing and SQL validation (MUST HAVE). Strong experience as an Automation Tester / SDET using Selenium (MUST HAVE). Experience with Java and Jenkins for test automation. Experience in healthcare domain (MUST HAVE). Hands-on experience in backend testing and data-driven testing. Strong Agile experience (user stories, defect writing, participation in ceremonies). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to complete a Glider SQL assessment prior to submission/selection. API testing experience (Postman/Swagger/REST validation) and service validations.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with MongoDB (preferred). Experience supporting migrations from DB2 to MongoDB. Experience with Published Data Views (PDV). Experience with Facets / healthcare claims platforms (nice to have).
