Designer Needed to Create Physical Scale Model of Construction Site displaying products
About the position
We are an environmental solutions company seeking a skilled 3D designer / model maker to design a small physical scale model of a construction site that showcases stormwater and environmental protection products for use as a trade show and sales presentation display. The model should visually demonstrate how products are used across a typical construction site to protect waterways and control sediment runoff. Preferred tabletop display size is approximately 24–36 inches wide.
Responsibilities
Design a detailed 3D site layout of a construction/development environment; include terrain elements such as hillsides, roads, excavation areas, storm drains, and a waterway or pond; integrate client-provided product photos and specifications into the site; prepare the design for 3D printing or physical fabrication; provide guidance on materials and fabrication options; deliver a miniature construction site scene showing where products are installed and how they function.
Requirements
Ability to design a detailed site layout and prepare fabrication-ready designs for 3D printing or physical model construction; include key model elements such as construction area, storm drain inlets with filtration products installed, sediment control measures along slopes, a sediment basin or filtration area, a nearby waterway showing clean runoff leaving the site, wildlife exclusion fencing along a hillside, and general construction site details (soil piles, pipes, workers, etc.); provide guidance on suitable materials and fabrication options for a 24–36 inch tabletop display.
Nice-to-haves
Experience with physical scale models, dioramas, or trade-show display fabrication; familiarity with materials like foam, wood, acrylic, and 3D-printed components; prior work demonstrating clear product integration in a miniature/site-context model and experience producing transportable, durable trade-show displays.
