UI/UX Designer

About the position

Asurion is seeking a highly skilled and passionate UI/UX Designer for a remote contract position to join our dynamic product design team. In this role you will shape the user experience and visual design of digital products impacting millions of customers globally. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to translate complex requirements into intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user interfaces. The role involves concept exploration, user research, wireframing, prototyping, and final UI implementation in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive user research including interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Translate research findings and business requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. Design intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile (and potentially emerging tech). Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure feasibility and alignment with product strategy. Iterate on designs based on feedback, user testing results, and analytics. Develop and maintain design systems and style guides for consistency across products. Present and articulate design concepts, rationale, and user insights to internal teams and stakeholders. Stay current with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies.

Requirements

5+ years of professional UI/UX design experience, preferably in a tech or product-driven environment. A strong portfolio demonstrating user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision. Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and accessibility standards. Experience with agile development methodologies. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or related field. Experience designing for large-scale consumer-facing products or enterprise solutions. Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Experience working with and evolving design systems. Previous contract or consulting experience.
